Lew spent nearly 30 years a s professional actor in New York, costarring with Angela Lansbury in "Gypsy", Barry Nelson and Delores Gray in the Broadway National Tour of "42nd St" and in national tours of "South Pacific" with Robert Goulet and "The Music Man" with John Davidson. Off Broadway and regional theater leading roles have included "Fiddler on the Roof", "Fiorello", "Guys and Dolls" and "The Sound of Music". On film, Lew was featured with Julia Roberts in "Mystic Pizza" and "Our World, Too" with Rod Steiger and Roberta Flack. In addition he created the long-running rold of Detective Sam Dwyer on "The Edge of Night" and appreared in various other soap operas and primetime series. Lew starred in the first "Broadway Pops" concert at the Kennedy Center and in several pops concerts at the White House.
